COOLING KIT🧊
This kit is designed to improve the operating temperature of your Bitaxe. It is essential for overclocking and highly recommended to extend the miner’s lifespan. It’s also useful for regular maintenance. Make sure to install the heatsinks on the marked voltage regulator areas before powering on your Bitaxe.

❗️WHY IS THIS SO IMPORTANT?
Maintaining good heat dissipation for the voltage regulator is crucial to ensure stable power supply to the ASICs, which is important for the safety and longevity of your miner. Proper cooling prevents overheating, which can lead to hardware failure and reduce the efficiency and lifespan of your mining equipment
💡To unlock stable performance and extend the lifespan of your Bitaxe, it’s critical to manage the heat generated by the ASIC chip and voltage regulators (VRMs). These components handle intense workloads and need efficient thermal dissipation to avoid overheating, instability, or even permanent damage.
Why the new heatsink is better📈
The new black heatsink included in the Cooling Kit is a clear upgrade over the original. Its taller design allows for better airflow when paired with the Noctua fan, helping to dissipate heat more efficiently.

The increased height also applies more even pressure on the ASIC chip, improving thermal contact and reducing long-term wear. This means better cooling, more stable performance, and a longer lifespan for your Bitaxe.
🧪Test After Sealing – Final Check Before Mining
Once everything is installed, we conducted a series of quick validation tests in our workshop to ensure the Cooling Kit works as intended. These checks help confirm that the hardware is properly assembled and ready for continuous operation.

🌡️ THERMAL PERFORMANCE TESTS
We conducted infrared thermal camera tests comparing a Bitaxe with and without the cooling kit installed.

🟥 Without cooling
The voltage regulator and ASIC can reach temperatures of 80–90°C, risking thermal throttling and unstable performance.
🟩 With the cooling kit
Temperatures are significantly reduced—ASIC and VRM remain under 60°C, even under heavy load.

In the thermal images, the cross marks the spot where the temperature is measured, labeled as “max.” If you look closely, the hottest area is always on the side of the board without heatsinks.
The central cross shows the ZEN temperature reading. In some images, you can clearly see that the temperature is focused on the voltage regulator. When there’s no heatsink, the temperature is very high, but when the heatsink is installed, the temperature drops significantly. The same pattern appears on the back side of the board.

🧪 Cooling Kit: Proven Thermal and Power Efficiency
In our workshop tests, we compared the performance of the Bitaxe Gamma under three different cooling conditions:
- Without any cooling kit
- With the standard Cooling Kit
- With the Cooling Kit + Premium Heatsink
The results clearly show how each cooling upgrade improves both temperature management and power efficiency.
❌ Without Cooling Kit:
Power Consumption: 20.8 W
ASIC Temperature: 65.5 °C
Voltage Regulator Temperature: 74 °C
Fan Speed: 5538 RPM (59%)
👉 The system runs hot, with high fan speed to compensate, which increases noise and wear over time.
✅ With Cooling Kit:
Power Consumption: 19.1 W
ASIC Temperature: 57.1 °C
Voltage Regulator Temperature: 61 °C
Fan Speed: 5800 RPM (61%)
👉 Power usage drops by 1.7 W, and temperatures are significantly reduced. This leads to a more stable and efficient miner with improved component lifespan.
🥇 With Cooling Kit + Premium Heatsink:
Power Consumption: 18.3 W
ASIC Temperature: 50 °C
Voltage Regulator Temperature: 58 °C
Fan Speed: 4262 RPM (45%)
👉 This setup shows the greatest benefit: lower overall power draw
(more than 2 W saved compared to no cooling), drastically improved
thermals, and reduced fan speed, which means less noise and stress on
the hardware.
