Key Features

The NerdAxe Gamma is a fork of Bitaxe featuring full-color display graphics. It is an open-source Bitcoin ASIC miner equipped with the BM1370 chip from Antminer S21 Pro.

It is designed as an expansion board for those who already own a NerdMiner and want to enhance their mining capabilities without losing the NerdMiner essence. That’s why the NerdAxe is currently controlled by the same board used in the NerdMiner project, the TTGO-TDisplayS3.

This design ensures efficient and powerful mining performance, achieving ~1.2TH with an energy efficiency of 17J. It operates on a 5V DC power supply connected via a 2.5/5.5 mm barrel connector.

The NerdAxe uses a custom Bitronics version of ESP-Miner and AxeOS, the open-source firmware developed by the Bitaxe team that grants you complete control over your mining operations. Its intuitive web interface simplifies configuration and performance monitoring, making mining more accessible and streamlined.

Mining with NerdAxe

While the NerdAxe is a solo miner compatible with any solo mining pool, it’s important to manage expectations regarding its performance. Due to its relatively modest mining power compared to larger setups, the probability of discovering a block before more powerful miners is extremely low. Therefore, in its current state, this product should be considered more of a gadget than a miner.

The NerdAxe was designed by @BitMaker_, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the previous work of @skot9000, @johnny9dev, @public-pool_BTC, and other Bitaxe developers.
