How to Mine Bitcoin from Home – Connecting Your Home Miner to Braiins Pool

In this article, we’ll provide a detailed guide on how to mine Bitcoin from home efficiently earning satoshis every day. Let’s get started!
Understanding Bitcoin Mining
Before we begin, it’s important to understand the two main types of Bitcoin mining:
Solo Mining
Solo mining occurs when a miner, or several of your own devices concentrate all their hashrate to try and mine a Bitcoin block. Due to the current network difficulty, mining a block with just one Bitaxe would take a lot of time. Even connecting multiple devices would not reduce the time enough to find a block within your lifetime. You can check you’re solo chances here
Despite this, solo mining plays a vital role in maintaining Bitcoin’s decentralization. By mining solo, you contribute to a more distributed and resilient Bitcoin network. Pool mining tends to concentrate hash power in a few large entities, which can threaten the network’s integrity.
So, while solo mining may not be profitable with small hardware, it helps uphold the decentralized ethos that Bitcoin was built upon — empowering individual miners and strengthening the network.

Pool Mining
Because of Bitcoin’s high difficulty, most miners use mining pools to share computing power. In a pool, many miners combine their hashrate to increase the odds of finding a block. The rewards are then distributed proportionally to each miner’s contribution.
Both solo and pool mining have their merits. However, with a small hashrate, solo mining is like buying lottery tickets the odds of success are very low due to the network difficulty.
That’s why, for most users, mining through a pool is the practical option for earning consistent daily satoshis.
Choosing a Pool
For this guide, we’ll use a pool that pays via the Lightning Network this allows us to save on transaction fees and avoid address reuse.
As of today, the two pools that offer Lightning payouts are:
- Braiins Pool
- Ocean Pool
For this tutorial, we’ll use Braiins Pool.
Setting Up Your Mining Device
The first thing we’ll need to do is configure the device we want to connect to the pool. This process is simple:
- Connect your device to the network. The Bitaxe will automatically create a Wi-Fi signal, and you’ll see a configuration page.
- Enter your Wi-Fi details. Make sure to input your home router’s SSID (name) and password correctly.
- Access the device settings. Once configured, you can access the Bitaxe settings by entering its IP address into your browser.

For a complete setup walkthrough, check the official Bitronics guide: BITAXE Guide (PDF)
Registering on Braiins Pool
Once your Bitaxe is connected to your Wi-Fi, open your browser and go to: https://es.braiins.com/pool
Create an account on Braiins Pool. After logging in, go to your main dashboard, here you’ll see your connected devices, their hashrate, and connection status.
Now, we’ll link your home miner to your Braiins account.
Connecting Bitaxe to Braiins Pool
In Braiins, go to Mining Devices → Connect Devices.

Once there:
- Select your region.
- Copy and paste the main connection values into AxeOS (your Bitaxe dashboard).

Connection details:
- URL: Copy it exactly as indicated in Braiins (do not add
stratum+tcp://or the port). - Port:
3333(default for all devices). - Stratum user: Your Braiins account name + “.” + your chosen device name.
Example:BitronicsStore.supra - Password: The password assigned by the pool (e.g.,
whatever123).
Once this is set up, your device will begin connecting to the pool. Wait about 10–15 minutes for your hashrate and worker data to appear on the Braiins dashboard.
Receiving Your Rewards (Lightning Payments)
Once your device is connected and mining, it’s time to configure how you’ll receive your sats.
Pools that pay via the Lightning Network require a Lightning address, which looks similar to an email address for example, [email protected].
You have three main options for setting up your Lightning address:
- Custodial wallet (Easy) — e.g., Wallet of Satoshi
- Self-custodial wallet (Intermediate) — e.g., Zeus Wallet
- Self-hosted Lightning address (Advanced)
To keep this guide simple, we’ll use Wallet of Satoshi, since it comes preconfigured and is beginner-friendly.
⚠️ Disclaimer: Using a custodial wallet means you don’t control your private keys. This involves trust in the provider and potential risk of losing funds.
How to Generate a Lightning Address
- Open the Wallet of Satoshi app.
- Tap Receive.
- Copy the Lightning address shown just below the QR code.

Once copied, go back to Braiins and paste it in your payout settings.
Setting Up Lightning Payouts in Braiins
In Braiins, navigate to: Funds → Bitcoin Account.

You’ll find multiple options for receiving payouts:
- Paste your Lightning address from Wallet of Satoshi.
- Adjust the payment threshold (minimum payout amount). Since the Bitaxe generates small amounts of Bitcoin, set it to the minimum (10 sats) to receive daily payments.

Conclusion
Exploring Bitcoin mining with a Bitaxe offers versatility and a valuable learning experience. You’ll understand how to configure hardware, connect to pools, receive payouts via Lightning, and gain a deeper appreciation for how the Bitcoin network operates.
It’s an enriching process and with minimal energy consumption, you can run a small miner at home, contribute to decentralization, and learn hands-on about Bitcoin’s fundamentals.
